It’s always a big challenge for all heavy-duty steel blast doors to pass fire test, given the fact that, the blast doors have to have very strong steel beams inside door leaf to build sufficient structural strength against blast load, yet this strong structure becomes big negative fact on fire testing as the steel beams would be deformed under fire due to the thermal expansion. The larger the door size is, or the stronger the structure is, or longer the fire testing lasts, the more difficult it is for door to pass test. If these three facts are combined, the difficulty of passing the fire test could be significant.
Designed to take more than 15 bar blast load, weighted around 2 tons, with size by width of 2600mm and height of 2800mm, which is the largest door size that the testing lab can take, FUCARE’s FC-BRD-01-DL-2600X2800 double-leaf doors successfully passed 4-hour fire rating test, by testing standard EN1634-1:2014+A1:2018, conducted by TUV SUD PSB Pte Ltd, at its testing facility in Singapore on April 29, 2025.
It’s worth of mentioning that, the tested doors, were equipped with FUCARE’s unique IP68 rated (Dust-water-proof) heavy-duty hinges which could work in a decade without maintenance while maintaining its smooth operating performance just like new sets.
This successful test again demonstrates FUCARE’s continuous effort in developing better protection solutions no matter how big the challenge is.
