On Feb 3rd of 2016, FUCARE Rapid Blast Dampers FC-BRV-02 series were officially certified to ATEX standard (Equipment for explosive atmospheres, based on directive 94/9/EC, equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres) by TUV.
ATEX is the European regulatory framework for manufacturing, installation and use of equipment in explosive atmospheres. 94/9/EC itself is not a law but is regarded as a law in each member state of the EU when it is adopted. Adoption without variation is compulsory, so it is common to refer to 94/9/EC as if it is an EU wide law and this applies to the whole of the EEA (EU plus EFTA).
This certification proves, when FC-BRV-02 solutions stand by to provide instant high-performance blast protection, they also could safely work in explosive atmospheres under specific conditions and are not able to ignite the explosion by any own reason, including heat generated through vibrations, friction heat between parts, friction heat by high speed air flow, etc. This important safety character makes FC-BRV-02 blast protection solution one of the safest blast protection solutions in the world.
